Principal's Message

Welcome back Brigadoon Tigers! 

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our scholars, families, and staff. I am incredibly proud of the hard work and ongoing commitment that strengthens our partnerships and supports student achievement across our community.

At Brigadoon, we remain dedicated to nurturing each child’s academic success alongside their social and emotional development. We continue to integrate principles of neural education into our practices, helping scholars better understand how their brains function in the face of academic challenges and successes. This empowers students to develop resilience, confidence, and a growth mindset as they learn and grow.

Beginning this school year, we are excited to introduce Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC). With this program, every student will have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast in their classroom at the start of the school day. As a result, our daily arrival routines will be adjusted for the 2026–2027 school year. Valet drop-off and adult supervision will begin at 8:25 a.m. We appreciate your support and flexibility as we implement this change to better serve our scholars.

Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) provides free breakfast and lunch to all students every school day, regardless of income. Family Income Surveys have replaced free and reduced-price meal applications and are essential for securing federal and state funding. We encourage all families to complete the survey to ensure continued support for our school community.

We will continue to celebrate our community by coming together in new and meaningful ways, while working collaboratively with our scholars and families to ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all. In response to valuable family feedback, I will host a variety of engagement opportunities, including Family Zoom sessions, Coffee with the Principal, and Lunch with Lopez. These gatherings are designed to strengthen our shared commitment to one another and to the success of our scholars. By offering a range of meeting times and both in-person and virtual options, we aim to increase accessibility and ensure greater participation across our community.

The ParentVUE App is getting a new look. The current app will stop working on August 1st. Please take time to log into your ParentVUE account and follow the prompts to install the NEW PARENTVUE APP. While you are there, please ensure that your contact information is current so you can remain informed and connected. Through this platform, we will share Title program information, district and school updates, as well as important reminders for families. 

Superintendent Dr. Pfeiffer will continue to keep our community informed through the weekly Federal Way Public Schools News newsletter. As a district, FWPS remains committed to its Strategic Plan and will continue to make decisions aligned with guidance from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). 

The strength of our community partnership over the past seven years has been truly inspiring. I am deeply proud of the collaboration that continues to support positive learning environments for our scholars. “Together We ROAR” as we remain united in our commitment to every student’s success!
