Principal's Message
Hello Tigers and Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!
As we start another year together, I would like to thank all our scholars, families, and staff. I am so proud of our community and the strength, growth, and resilience that our partnerships have created. At Brigadoon, we continue our work in nurturing both a child’s academic success as well as their social and emotional development. We are working on building our understanding of Neural Education to support our scholars in the way that their brains work with regards to academic challenge and success.
This year we will continue to celebrate, coming together in a variety of new ways, and we will work with our scholars and families to ensure a safe and welcoming community for all. With feedback from our families, I will host a variety of Family Zooms, Coffees with the Principal, and Lunches with Lopez so that we can continue to build our unified commitment to each other and our scholars’ success. The variety of times and Zoom versus in-person options will accommodate more of our families.
Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) offer nutritious meals every school day throughout the school year. For the 2025-2026 school year, breakfast and lunch continue to be provided to FWPS scholars at no cost, regardless of free and reduced eligibility status. Family Income Surveys are replacing the free and reduced applications and will ensure your child’s school qualifies for federal and state funding as determined by parent income levels and will continue to be collected.
We will be sharing Title information, district and building updates, as well as continuing to connect with families about what is working well and what we can do to get better. Please ensure that your information is current in ParentVue so that you can stay informed and connected. Superintendent Dr. Pfeiffer will continue to keep our community informed and up to date through the weekly “Federal Way Public Schools News” newsletter. FWPS will continue to focus on our Strategic Plan and make decisions in alignment with guidance from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
The community partnership and growth have continued to amaze me over the last six years. I am so proud of our amazing partnership that continues to support the learning environments of our scholars! We are, and have always been, in this together Brigadoon Tigers!
In Proud Partnership,
Mrs. Vicki Lopez
